Gouda Mac and Cheese

Gouda Mac and Cheese

For the Pasta

  • 0.5 box. elbows
  • 1 pinch Hawaiian Salt

For the Sauce

  • 8 oz. sliced gouda cheese (chopped)
  • 1 cup warm half and half
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Kinder's The Blend Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, adding the Hawaiian salt.
  2. Once boiling, add the elbow pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente.
  3. Drain the pasta, rinsing the elbows with cold water.
  4. In the empty pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbling.
  5. Slowly pour in the warm half and half while whisking constantly to prevent lumps, simmering gently for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Turn off the heat. Stir in the Kinder's The Blend Seasoning.
  7. Add the chopped gouda in small handfuls, stirring constantly until completely melted and smooth.
  8. Fold the cooked pasta into the cheese sauce until evenly coated, adding a splash of more warm half and half if needed to loosen the sauce.
